Russian Parliament Member Threatens Nuclear Attack on the Netherlands: 'After That, All of Europe Will Be Completely Dead'A Russian parliament member Andrei Gurulev has advocated on Russian state television for paralyzing the entire European continent at once by dropping a nuclear bomb on the Netherlands. Retired General Andrei Gurulev often makes absurd statements.The chilling threat was made on Russian state in a conversation with propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.According to Gurulev, a nuclear attack would cause the dikes and dams to break, flooding the country with water. "The dams there will collapse all at once, everything. All of the Netherlands will be submerged," claimed the parliament member. "One hundred percent certain that after that, all of Europe will be completely dead.""Somewhere between 50 and 60 percent of Europe's fuel supply is in the Netherlands," Gurulev claimed in the television interview. "The military calls this a fat target." Gurulev further claimed that the attack could be carried out in one day with minimal deployment of Russian nuclear weapons.The nuclear saber-rattling by the parliament member comes days after the Netherlands announced that it would allow the Ukrainian Air Force to use its 24 F-16 fighter jets to carry out attacks in Russia.Gurulev said that two standard nuclear weapons would destroy the Netherlands. "One can be shot down, the second will hit the target. That will be enough." He made it clear that such an attack on the Netherlands was part of the Russian military's 'target catalog.' I have no doubt that such plans are ready in the Kremlin. This has been the case since the start of the Cold War in the 1940s. Back then, the West, led by the United States, developed similar plans to wipe out Russia in one strike. These plans were part of War Plans to contain Russia and had exotic codenames like Pincher, Broiler, and Halfmoon. The Offtackle War Plan called for the delivery of 292 atomic bombs and 246,900 short tons (224,000 t) of conventional bombs. It was estimated that 85 percent of the industrial targets in the Soviet Union would be completely destroyed. Such war plans still exist today and are practiced in parts, as recently demonstrated with Steadfast Defender 24. This largest NATO exercise since the end of the Cold War showcased NATO’s ability to rapidly deploy and sustain complex operations, reinforcing Europe's defense. This exercise demonstrated NATO's unmatched ability to deploy and sustain operations across Europe. The exercise started in January this year and lasted three months, involving over 90,000 troops from all 32 NATO allies. #coldwar #nato NATO

F-35 Takes Over Dutch Nuclear Task within NATO from F-16The Royal Netherlands Air Force is making a significant step in transitioning from the F-16 to the F-35. Starting Saturday, June 1st, the advanced fighter jet will fully assume the Dutch nuclear task within NATO from the F-16. The Netherlands is one of the NATO allies providing Dual-Capable Aircraft for this NATO mission, and it is the first European country to transition to the F-35 for this purpose. The transition from the F-16 to the F-35 for NATO's nuclear task began years ago. Over the past few years, a comprehensive process of testing and certification of the F-35 for the nuclear task has taken place. The Royal Netherlands Air Force had already adopted the F-35 for conventional missions. Volkel Air Base, which previously hosted the F-16s, is now the home of the dual-capable F-35 fighter jets responsible for the nuclear mission. This involves one squadron of F-35s.With this transition, the Netherlands reaffirms its long-standing commitment to NATO's nuclear deterrence. NATO's nuclear deterrence is essential for the security of the alliance and, by extension, the safety of the Netherlands.
